Can you hear that? It's the sound of the spring market buzz. As we move away from January and February, which typically make up the trough of our annual housing activity, energy and motivation drive us to busier times. Spring can be a great time to sell as buyers are looking but there isn't as much inventory to choose from as there will be during the summer and early fall months (read: less competition as a seller.) If you're a buyer, Asheville and the surrounding markets are still demonstrating that we're in a buyer's market which means you have more options and more negotiating power than in years past.
As for the February stats below, they do indeed indicate a buyer's market. You can see the year over year increase in inventory, supply and days on market while a drop in sales price, closed sales and percent of original list price received fall in line with our buyer's market.
