Asheville Market Insight, October 2024
Hello and Happy Thanksgiving.
It's hard to believe the end of November is here. Of course time never stops and neither does the Asheville real estate market. While overall inventory and supply are up year over year, Helene affected the number of new listings, pending sales and closed sales while damage and market conditions were assessed in the first half of October. After the initial recovery efforts had been under way for a few weeks, things approached business as usual as buying and selling homes is an essential part of life for many. Undoubtedly buyers, local and elsewhere, have had an eye on the region's recovery, perhaps specifically on access to potable water, and the response to Helene from Asheville, neighboring towns and all the volunteers to restore utilities has been a good one. We're on the right track. I do think the next few months are shaping up to be a great time to buy as prices aren't pushing upward at quite the rate we've been used to seeing in the Asheville area. Early spring next year may be a different story though.
Please reach out with your real estate questions. I'm happy to grab a coffee and chat.
Have an excellent holiday.
