Asheville Market Insight, October 2025

by Pete Anderson

Well, we’re past Halloween but now it’s that time of year, isn’t it?

You know the time I mean. It's when the holidays start racing at us, which is both a joyous time (hopefully) and often a hectic time. But the fact that another year has come and is nearly gone is rather mind boggling. But onward we go.

And ‘tis the season of giving so I’m including a few ideas on how and where to give should you feel inclined.

Beloved Asheville - While their Helene response was phenomenal, their continued commitment to food access and mobile pantries, their support of youth programs, Latinx and Black communities and their affordable housing program make donating time or money here a no brainer.

Bounty & Soul - This community-based nonprofit provides access to fresh produce and wellness education for everyone. They support local food growers and are dedicated to creating communities where everyone has the right and opportunity to eat well, be nourished, and thrive.

Eblen Charities - Provides assistance to people in crisis with needs related to housing, energy assistance, transportation, clothing, and medication. You can give money or volunteer your time at any point but check out their many scheduled events that occur throughout the year.

Eliada - Provides “a cradle to career continuum of services for over 600 children and youth annually.” This includes a 5-Star Child Development Center (child care, pre-k, afterschool, and summer camp), Residential mental health programs, Respite Services, Foster Care services, and Workforce-Ready housing assistance.

Habitat For Humanity - Most everyone is familiar with Habitat and their mission to provide affordable housing and community largely through the efforts of volunteers and future owners who invest many hours of sweat equity.

Helpmate - Works with our community to eliminate abuse and fear by providing safety, shelter, and support for victims/survivors of intimate partner domestic violence. With their emergency shelter and transitional housing programs, they’re a statewide leader in the work to address violence against women.

In market news, October saw new listings double from a year ago while overall inventory is up by more than half year over year. And even though months supply has dipped below 6 for the first time since May, it's still well above what it was this time last year making the available options for buyers very appealing.

I’ll see you next month with updates from November. Until then, Cheers and Happy Thanksgiving!
